Abstract

This article analyzes the processes of early human settlement in the territory of Uzbekistan during the Stone Age (Paleolithic, Mesolithic, and Neolithic) based on archaeological and natural-geographical factors. Using archaeological sites in Ustyurt, the Lower Amu Darya, the Fergana Valley, and the Zarafshan Valley as examples, the article examines the formation and development of ethnic processes as well as their migration to neighboring territories. The geographical distribution of the Kaltaminor culture, the chronology of the Janbas-4 settlement, and the scholarly views of leading researchers (Ye. B. Bijanov, A. V. Vinogradov, S. P. Tolstov, N. U. Kholmatov, and F. Bryune) are comparatively analyzed.
